Meet Vera
CEO- Vera Lund
I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Vera Lund. I’m the CEO of Swipes Inc., and here’s a little about me….
I was born and raised in the country…of New Jersey. Funny because when you think of Jersey you don’t exactly think country but it was! That’s where my love of the outdoors started.
Growing up, my parents traveled with us everywhere from NJ to Cali and back. Camping the whole way! As a child I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up, so I had a bunch of different jobs trying to figure it out. From landscaping to delivering mail for the US postal service, then leaving there to pursue a job in telecommunication construction, I was all over the place. The telecommunication job moved me to Texas. After working there for a little bit, I decided to take the advice from my mother to go to college. I picked a school in Miami, got accepted and moved! I studied skin care and massage therapy. I learned a great deal about anatomy, physiology, aesthetics and how to take care of myself and others in the best possible way. I graduated with a degree in Health and Science.
After graduation I went home to visit and celebrate. While I was home I reconnected with an old friend. Eight years later we were married!!! I knew my true love almost my whole life, but didn’t really know it until we were adults.
Within a month or so of being married, I was talking to my husband one night about wipes and how come they didn’t make any for “adults”, you know to keep in your nightstand? He loved the idea but it kind of fell to the wayside.
I then spoke to my friend Maxine and she thought it was a great idea. So we decided to make this our new venture. We both have strong beliefs in taking a natural approach to life; we wanted to produce something that was not just good for us but just as good for the environment. After months of research and finding the right manufacture the wheels were in motion!! We couldn’t believe how this idea became reality. It was, and still is, very exciting for us.
Months later we received our first shipment of product, I was eight months pregnant with my first child. The product arrived and a couple days later (a month early to my surprise) little Milania was here!! The past year has flown by in a blink of an eye.
I’m so thankful and happy things have gone the way they have. I love being mommy! Milania is my new hobby; I have so much to teach her in her new little life. I’m excited to show her how to value things in her life, take care of herself, and to live Eco-friendly!
